Five leaders from ESD 112 represented Southwest Washington at the Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESD) Call to Action Legislative Conference in late September. While in Washington D.C., Tim Merlino, Loy Dale, Mike Nerland and board members Anne Campbell and Rainer Houser took the opportunity to meet with Representative Jamie Herrera Beutler, Senator Maria Cantwell, and the staff of Senator Patty Murray. They thanked the lawmakers for their support, invited them to visit some of the ESDs programs and shared with them some priorities and needed supports. In particular, they discussed special education programs, early learning, prevention, and STEM initiatives.
