The Board of Directors of Educational Service District 112 seeks applications from interested candidates to fill a vacant position on the Regional Committee on School District Organization.

The position to be filled is for District #2, which includes the following school districts: Ocean Beach, Naselle-Grays River Valley, Wahkiakum, Longview, Castle Rock, Toutle Lake, and Parts of Kelso starting at the intersection of the northern School District boundary and Westside Hwy. Southerly on Westside Hwy to the first crossing of the School District boundary.  Clockwise following School District boundary to the point of the beginning.

This Regional Committee position will serve the remaining two years of a four-year term beginning January 1, 2017 and ending December 31, 2018.

The Regional Committee is a voluntary group of seven citizens representing six Southwest Washington counties in Educational School District 112. The purpose of the Regional Committee is to make decisions regarding the boundaries, consolidation and dissolution of school districts, when the school districts cannot reach an agreement regarding the same, and to adjust school district assets and liabilities when changes in the boundaries are made.

To be eligible, interested applicants must be registered voters that reside in the District which they are applying to represent.

The superintendent of public instruction, a member of the State Board of Education, and educational service district superintendent, a member of a board of directors of a school district, a member of an educational service district board, a member of a governing board of either a private school or a private school district which conducts any grades kindergarten through twelve, officers appointed by any such governing board, and employees of a school district, an educational service district, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, a private school or a private school district are not eligible and should not apply.
